Part of a concerted effort to bring attention to the secretive negotiations of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the campaign Flush the TPP projected slogans–including “TPP Dismantles Democracy” and “TPP is a Corporate Coup”–onto the General Accountability Office building in Washington, DC. The campaign has organized several days of actions to interrupt the fast-track negotiations which would ratify the Trans-Pacific Partnership. According to its website:
The TPP is a secret trade agreement being negotiated behind the backs of Congress and the American people, but with the help of 600 corporate advisors. It threatens to undermine democracy by entrenching corporate power in virtually every area of our lives. From food safety and the environment, to workers’ rights and health care, the TPP is about much more than trade. It is a corporate coup.
